You’re $30 from a free tenner. Dangerous knowledge.

Salt in the air since 2018.

Akuna was born from a passion for nutritious, delicious food in a genuinely welcoming space — and it made us one of Newcastle’s original açai bowl pioneers. Six-plus years on the corner of Patrick & Robey, and we’ve stayed true to what works: fresh, generous, made with actual care.

A short stroll from the sand and The Junction, we’re the pit stop before or after your morning swim, surf or coastal walk — pouring specialty coffee and wholesome eats for this beachside community every single day.

Food connects people. Local sourcing, freshly cooked meals, and a real welcome for everyone — dawn surfers, young families and the post-yoga crew alike.

Exceptional coffee. As good as it gets and then some. And the food is also top notch! The potato rosti is really nice. Good vego options. A great place in the sun.

Tried the kiddies size acai so as not to spoil hunger for lunch $12. It was enough and very tasty ❤️ Coffee was awesome.

LOVED this place. If we were staying in Newcastle long term this would definitely be a regular cafe for us. Açai bowls are a must-try — and the tropical smoothie was such a good start to my morning 👍

Best coffee by far my husband and I have had at this café. Small organic café, healthy foods, friendly staff. Thanks for the lovely breakfast — we have to dine again when we come back to Newcastle.

I wish I stayed in Newcastle so I could visit the cafe every day! In love with the incredible dishes — the Tropical Twist smoothie, the halloumi & turmeric cauliflower Buddha bowl… Amazing job guys! ❤️

What a delightful surprise to discover Akuna Cafe. The menu is full of interesting and healthy options — the Vege Toasty and Smoked Salmon Stack we tried were excellent.

Currently my favourite little corner cafe. Food was super delicious with great portion sizes. Not too expensive, great coffee and lots to choose from. Will definitely be coming back.
